About Stewardship Advisors

Corporate expertise. Kingdom purpose.

Stewardship Advisors exists to help churches and nonprofits build the operational foundation they need to carry out their mission with excellence. We believe that strong governance, sound financial management, and well-designed systems aren't just good business practice; they are an expression of faithful stewardship.

Too many ministry organizations are held back not by a lack of vision, but by operational gaps that drain time, resources, and leadership capacity. We close those gaps so your leaders can lead.

Built from experience, not theory.

Stewardship Advisors was born out of firsthand experience, shaped not in a classroom but at the table when a church is trying to do something extraordinary.

When our founder was approached by church leadership to join the management team tasked with transitioning the satellite church into a fully independent and autonomous church, he said yes, humbled and honored by the opportunity. Drawing on decades of corporate leadership, he helped lay the operational and governance foundation and infrastructure the new church needed. That work led naturally to a trustee role, where he remained committed to transparent and responsible financial stewardship.

But in that process, something became clear. Even with the best intentions and the most dedicated people, the back-office operational policies and procedures, including the foundational work that doesn't always make the bulletin or the announcement slides, can get overlooked. Not out of negligence, but because the visible and relational work of ministry naturally commands attention. The result is that churches and nonprofits can find themselves launched and growing, yet without some of the structural supports that are essential to long-term health and sustainability.

That realization became the mission of Stewardship Advisors: to come alongside churches and nonprofits, before they launch, during critical transitions, and whenever a re-alignment is needed, to ensure the foundation is as strong as the vision.

Because organizations that are built on a solid foundation are better positioned to do what they've been called to do: serve faithfully, for the long haul.

Experience on both sides of the table.

Together, we bring a unique combination of corporate rigor and lifelong ministry experience, because effective stewardship requires both.

Mike Speer
Founder & Principal Advisor

Mike's career began in business and systems analysis, cultivating the process-oriented discipline that has defined his work ever since. Over the past 26 years, he has built a career in operational and service delivery leadership in benefits administration and HR outsourcing, including P&L responsibility and executive client management.

Long before stepping into formal church leadership, Mike served as a volunteer across multiple ministries within his church. His professional expertise proved to be a natural fit when his congregation transitioned from a satellite site to a fully independent church, where he helped establish payroll and accounting systems, a benefits package, and the church's constitution and bylaws. That work grew into a broader role helping shape the governance framework and financial controls the new congregation needed to operate with integrity and accountability. That contribution led naturally to his role as a trustee, a responsibility he continues to hold today.

Mike and his wife Melanie, an educator, reside in Fleming Island, FL and are longstanding members and volunteers in their church community. They are the proud parents of a son in corporate finance and two daughters pursuing graduate and undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Finance, respectively.

Mike holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.
